In a Light Breeze

Curated by Marcello Smarrelli

Opening December 13

14 December 2024 – 31 March 2025

From the 14th of December 2024 to the 30th of March 2025, the Fondazione Memmo presents In a Light Breeze (In una brezza leggero), the tenth edition of Conversation Piece. This is a series of annual exhibitions curated by Marcello Smarrelli, which aim to provide an overview of Italian and foreign artists who have chosen the city of Rome as their elected place of residence and creative activity.

Over fifty of the most interesting artists on the international scene have already participated in this highly successful curatorial project.

For this new edition, the following artists have been invited: Bianca Bondi (b. 1986, South Africa), a 2024-2025 scholarship recipient at the French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici; Enzo Cucchi (b. 1949, Italy), exhibiting a collective artwork created together with Andrea Anastasio, Francesco Arena, Marc Bauer, Elisabetta Benassi, Carlo Benvenuto and Domenico Mangano; Sidival Fila (b. 1962, Brazil), Vanessa Garwood (b. 1982, United Kingdom), Richard Mosse (b. 1980, Ireland), a winner of the Philip Guston Rome Prize 2024-2025 at the American Academy in Rome.

For this tenth edition, as usual, the artists have been asked to address a theme with a universal resonance, but that is also closely associated with the city of Rome and its thousands of years of history.
